FREE NO. 11 — LIFE
Welcome to FREE No. 11 – LIFE, our annual rededication to extracting the essence of life from every moment lived. As, we like to say, living “a life without limits.” For it’s Springtime. The most optimistic of the seasons. The time when the world puts on its new bespoke suit, silk tie and loafers, and heads out to party! With this change comes a sense that we’re reaching a turning point in the universe, or at least in the country. Sure, we’re barreling toward financial uncertainty thanks to the wasteful, corrupt and criminal efforts of our current administration and the war-profiteers that they’ve empowered to act on their behalf. Sure, we’ve lost thousands of valiant lives who were our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, sisters and brothers. Sure, patience and oil is in short supply and compassion it seems even less. But...and this is the interesting part... there is reason for hope, for optimism. Just take a look around. Watch the world as it rejuvenates, replenishes and resurrects, right on cue. Watch it as it fills itself with hope, optimism and life. We would be well served to take a lesson from our home and strive to do the same.
FREE NO.10 FRESH
Our annual ode to new beginnings, progressive movement and fresh perspectives. If there was ever an example that hope, optimism and change are constant, it is Luciana Gimenez. From Supermodel to mom, actress to television host, she is the living testament of what happens when the symphony of beauty and intelligence is played to perfection. We also sit down with MTV front man Damien Fahey, as he walks us through his step-by-step plan toward utter global dominance. Dave, Jay and Conan, leave the seat warm, that's just the first stop. FREE NO.9 ESCAPE
This time around we offer a few helpful tips on how you can escape the norm: spiritually with the serene photography of Wyatt Gallery, mentally as Erin Donnelly takes us on a tour of some of the most spectacular architectural airport designs in the world and physically as Arlene Pitterson talks about how the perfect moment can provide a little escape any time you need it. Additionally, we introduce you to a few of our personal heroes, John Sanful and Merina Vo. Both, in there own unique way, helping others escape the confinement of poverty and isolation.
FREE NO.8 POWER
We’ve collectively decided to take on the task and explore power and music from every angle imaginable. The FREE Staff all weighed in to complete the FREE Power 25. Listed in no particular order, but yes, Ass does make an appearance. Feel the heat as we introduce you to Rhea, the hottest new R&B star this side of the Milky Way. Rich Wilkins checks in from Johannesburg and gives a very logical assessment of how, with the power of media, one can completely piss off 1 billion people in less than 10 seconds flat. Take a walk outside and look at life in a different way, with Benj Gershman. Photographer Alessandro Rossino bridges the worlds of lust, power and control in Power Positions. Finally, prepare to feel the power of change with former Miss Canada and soon-to-be leader of the FREE world, Nazanin.
FREE NO.7 LOVESEXY
A valiant attempt to discern between the two epic elements that captain our collective soul as we traverse life's stormy seas. What we've discovered is that there is very little distance between love and sexy. We all love sexy. No matter who we are, what we are or where we are. We love sexy in it's truest form. Ethereal, visceral and impassioned. We get to be sexy, in no small part to thanks to love. To love sexy is to love out loud with no regard, inhibition or remorse.
